Hey Guys n gals..... not been around these parts for a long while... i see cloud is still around :)

i have come with an invite to a gaming league that I help put with called KGL

http://kgl.xippy.co.uk.

We started KGL a while ago, with a mind to cater events for low-mid

skilled teams who enjoy a bit of craic, and with an emphasis on good

sportsmanship and team spirit. We are now entering season 5 of KGL and

would really like to invite a few more clans to come and enjoy the

craic with us. As well as the KGL, we also run many fun cups, usually

one a week, the current one being an old school cup.

http://kgl.xippy.co.uk/index.php?page=204&PageID=6740 You can see a

list of our past events here, there is something to suit most teams.

We also have our monthly RTL cup, which runs in conjunction with one of

our sponsors RTL who supply servers as prizes for this event.

We also currently have a deathmatch endurance event to sign up for with

a gaming mouse up for grabs for the winner.

If you are interested in signing up then have a read of

http://kgl.xippy.co.uk/index.php?page=1 ... stID=97470 and

just post. We'll approve your clan and you will be eligible to enter

events.

If you have any questions, you can contact myself, Akirah or karen in

#kgl on irc or you can join http://steamcommunity.com/groups/kgl and pm

us.

We look forward to seeing you there

what's the match timetable look like Elite?

looks like if we sign up, the majority of the matches are played on a sunday, while some are played on tuesday and few are played on wednesday and monday.

As i can only play on mondays, wednesdays and fridays (8pm+) and sunday 9:30+ this may mean i will have to sit out on a few, which is one of the reasons why i need more people to state there interst in this :)

As I am 100% opposed to Competitive Gaming, I'm not going to participate, unless i am really really needed.

opposed? why?

Partly because I don't enjoy competitive gaming, I'm all about having fun, and partly because I personally think Competitive Gaming killed this clan. But let's not go down that road again.

nah, why else form a clan? Competative gaming gives you something more out of a game - running around a public server is all well and good, but playing matches requires teamwork and execution, something you'd never get in non-competative games.

I joined the clan when it was nothing but a fun server. nothing serious. and it thrived. it was more popular that PIE has ever been. then we started competitive gaming and the clan split into factions...... and then everyone dispersed to find better Competitive clans, or to create their own, which ever way you look at it, Competitive gaming killed this Clan.

And I'd have to disagree with about there not being any point in a clan that doesn't play competitively. the point of a clan is to play together with people you get on with whether it's just for fun or for serious purposes.

Please can we drop this subject, we've all argued about this for too long... it's time to move on.

I'm not arguing, I am simply saying that we formed the clan in the first place to play in ED leagues/ladders as CSS wasn't really CSS until you were playing in clan matches... We wouldn't have bothered if it wasn't fun. It has always been a competative clan.

I'm just saying that competative gaming was what made the clan and it certainly didn't kill it (it's not dead) as we are more than just your average clan and the only thing that has caused us to stop playing is our boredom with CSS, the juice was no longer worth the squeeze.

*Some* are bored with CSS, others aren't!

Personally I'm looking forward to a few scrims... One thing I hate about 'all talk' on the PIE server is that you can't form any sort of tactics with your team using voice... which I find very limiting.

It's a matter of personal choice really...

Im up for a few games but it needs to be well organised and I need to know in advance when It will be happening, got work and a relationship that Im trying to salvage ...

I partialy agree with Ames ... the clan did split in to factions and personaly I still blame some of the alpha squad members or what ever it was call for this.
But on the other hand Cerro is right ... CSS is just boaring ... the luck factor in this game is just to much(IMO). U get a good interent connection and your easy prey ... u lag like a cunt and u pretty much own every one coz u warp around the map like Spock or your just regless..
...but guys ... look ... its been so many years and we are still here. It does not matter what kind of a clan we are, its about what kind of poeple we are. I think this clan long a go past the level of competetive game play. It matured and that is only coz of its members. We shaped it, we all took part in getting this place to were it is. Its just like being a parent ... they make good and bad decisions but they all make them for the good of their children. Yes we made mistakes on our way of bringing up the "PK baby" ( ;) ) but take a closer look ... it turnes out it grew up to be more then just a gaming community, it grew to be a family. How many people come here and share there problems, how many of u are still in contact just coz of this place... u all know the answers to these questions. U all know this place is an integral part of your life... and we all love it !

Very well said Cloudy.
I've formed some of my closest relationships with members of this clan, so family is more than just a good choice of words.
