directx unrecoverable error

I got CoD4 today got to half way on first level and i got "directx unrecoverable error" and i have no idea what to do iv even updated my drivers same message iv looked on the net and found this also happened to CoD2. if anyone knows the reason id love u for it cause i really really wanna play! :angryfire

I had DX Trouble on CSS and it was my AVG AntiVirus... uninstalling it fixed the problem

i have norton u think that'll sort it?

Well all I found on forums was that AVG caused it, I have Norton now and it's working fine

well i turned off norton and it still didnt work i reinstalled directx and it didnt work... and now my css doesn't work cos of my new drivers and i cant find my old drivers... so untill i find them im not playing css or any other game for that matter.... lol :angryfire

right i found old drivers all my other games work the error has gone! yay! but now it just crashes w00t! :angryfire whoever made computer parts so expensive should be killed!
