Server Changes

Right me and dex just spent a couple hours sorting a few things out on the new (and old) server.

I've added and update all the maps on PK1. So we now have full version of mill and fire (no more beta crap) and Lost temple and Russka have been added as well. All of these maps are available here. The rar when extracted to your cstrike folder will put everything where it needs to be...

Secondly, the Jolt server 1 (now PK4) has been changed to D2/Office only. We're not planning on doing DM or anything else becauses its simply not worth the time. Its already out of contract so it could do tomorrow - not worth me or dex spending hours setting up and configuring anything new on it only for it to disappear a couple hours later.

Zblock is now enabled on all servers (except PK4). Adverts on PK4 have been added with the new server IP address.

Make sure you download the maps - atm you can't download them off the server until dex makes them available as direct http downloads.

the new server is cool... BUT i get this feking anoying lag spike issue only on this server :dozey: .... it happens so often that it make the game unplayable...it frezzes for 10+seconds shows connection problems and then it does come back but it only showes the wepons upside down sliding on the ground!!! and if u go to spec u can see the actual characters under the map !!!

hmmm haven't seen or heard of that kind of problem for a long time - i dunno dude. I'd check with your ISP and see if there's problems between you and the server - or maybe its just css...

looks like your textures are missing/in the wrong place. re-download de_ruska again and make sure you extract it to the correct place, that should fix your problem :)

you need to do a trace route. Sick was having awful reg problems earlier and it was found to be with his ISP to the server. You'll need to download abit of software (can't remember the name of it) that gives a detailed trace - dos is too limited. If there's a problem when running the trace then we can send it to IGS who can do something about it or you can send it to your ISP and tell them to fix it.

well thats the map fix anyway cloud if you want it... ruska isnt played an awful lot anyway.

but I have a similar problem to cloud, but recently (just today) i started getting loss/choke spikes of 20 every 2-3 seconds... i waited to see if it'd die down, then it went up to a constant of 100 choke.

I reckoned it was probably something to do do with my ISP and Dex said the same thing. This problem hass't been around all the time on our new server, so i can imagine the problem might just go away, since it isn't occuring on any other servers that i know of - so far.

all i guess i can really do is hope.

Visualroute is some trace software if your gonna go that way - however again if you have a dual core processer and/or SLI that can cause problems with your internet connection, if i dont set a cpu affinity to some programs the connection wont work properly and this includes CSS on 2cpu it would run at 100 up 70 ish down and lotsa choke and loss but if i set the affinity it would run at 100/100 perfect connection.

Dunno if any of the rest of you have come across this problem yourselves.

Could I just suggest setting cl_cmdrate to sometime like 66/70 to see if that fixes the lag, you may be getting choke on your broadband upload connection with the 100 tic (the old server only allowed 66 upload).

adjust your updaterate. if you've got it on 100 try like 80 or 60 and take your rate down to 20000 from 25000 (if you've maxed everything). cmdrate won't do as much but taking it down to 80 might help. Not sure what else you can do, adjust gfx and other config options.

nah AOL is ok but it does fuck up alot every1 i know says it just randomly fucks up mine does it was my modem like all the time but now it only happins sometimes mainly when there is a match quite annoying

Aol have very high line contention and when the yanks come on and you lot are on you'll notice the difference plus it uses all that crappy aol software....

I've gone from 256kb/s to 2MB for something like £2 extra a month which aint bad at all...
The Phone service is decent aswell.
The Tv ain't bad but I don't really watch it much... But we have like basic Sky for really cheap, I think we pay £30 or something and we get basic Sky TV free evening and weekend calls and 2Mb unlimited broadband which I like <3

i have aol gold.. coz apparently with silver and bronze you cant have 2 more laptops connecting to it through wireless connection, so we upgraded.
BT phone line.. and full sky, i cant live without it, tv is 3rd best thing after girls and comps :D
