Why oh why?

Ok so soleft has been persuading me for a long time to get WoW. I have dismissed it but now im thinking why not.

Could you give me some info about the game...
Why is it such a good game to play? what is the objective of it, and how much do you have to pay every month?

Why not guildwars?

k let me start on the whole thingeh of the thing

k the game has 2 sides, The alliance and The horde

we are all alliance because soleft told us to be ;)

i guess the main objective of the game is to get to lvl 60 so that you can team up and complete high level dungeons and kill high level world bosses etc, in the game you can choose (atm) 4 races in either horde or alliance

horde

Tauren (they look like cows)
Undead
Trolls (they live under bridges apparantly)
+
Orcs (they have a limited iq, limited to 0)

The Alliance

Humans
Dwarves
Gnomes
Night Elves

and then you get to choose classes for them, like paladin, rogue, priest etc

for example i chose human paladin because paladins kick ass and arent just heal bots

each race starts in their own places, there are major cities etc scattered around, you complete quests for your country against the scourge (horde)

in the game you can choose different professions like, engineering, mining, blacksmithing, tailoring, leather craft, skinning the list goes on, and these can allow you to make some decent items and stuff like that

i get most fun from killing horde atm, its just so much fun, theres a horde, kill him

(we play on a PvP server which means...)

there are 3 areas, alliance area, horde area and contested area (an area where we can attack horde or be attacked by them)

but for example with alliance area, the horde can come in and attack but they cannot attack you untill you attack them, stuff like that, i can continue with this but other people can describe it much better than me (i just play it)

WoW : u start @ lvl1 ..(duh) 1st thing u know is.. u have to get lvl up
killing beasts + doing quests(doing the things npc wants u to do) gets u xp.. which will lvl u up..

so the game i like this:
-lvling
-doing 1st instance.. around lvl18.. i was like.. omg this is ownage (u join a 5 player group and u walk through dungeon.. killing bosses (elites) which drops nice items
-meeting horde (from lvl 20 or something) it will make u pissed... u can own them.. but believe me.. mainly they just own u cause they are lvl60 :P thats what most horde do btw.. pick on the easy ones.. so well it makes u pissed.. u start thinking about how u gonna own them, tactics, getting better items, U HAVE TO LVL FASTER:P
- as i said .. u want better items.. do more damage etc. have more hp, what u do? u do instances.. or if u got the money go to the AH(auction house) thats the place all ppl sell their stuff they found and which they dont need. other option is.. getting help from cute lvl60.. (1 of us who play the game for months now) and ofcourse we help u, we help kami and dex these days.
- u get lvl 60 and then its time for THE EPICS! u get them by owning in high lvl instances with 20-40 ppl from the guild your in. Or by doing battlegrounds.. battleground are small maps where its alliance vs horde . u get honor by killing the horde which makes u private > corporal > sergeant > master sergeant etc.
every rank let u buy special items.

so thats what we are doing in wow, and well imo its worth the money, i pay 20euro for 2 months of gaming
i havent told u everything now.. cause theres alot more but i think u have to see for yourself.. hexx told about professions etc. well that has its story aswell

by the time i reached level 60 i realised that it's just really an addiction. you get to level 60 with promises of even more fun once you're there, but in actual fct you end up doing the most boring thing possible: grinding to get good gear

Grinding is just another way on WoW of saying doing the same thing over and over for hours/days till you get what you want. ie. good lvl 60 gear.

I still probably will continue playing it, and everyone says it's fun - so i don't see why you shouldn't get it.

My advice: Get soleft's Installation discs and i have a 10 day free trial card. ill give you the code and soleft can give you a loan of the discs to install then you can trial the game free of charge. in those 10 days you'll no doubt get hooked and want to buy your own subscription to the game.

Ye get it phil, I have a 10 day trial. Just buy the dam thing :/ Don't buy GW thats just a pile of shit. U won't really get the full aspect of everything in a 10 day trial, the game really begins at 60. Pauls going to get it soon too so you might aswell. You've never played a game like this so, ye have a go.

it's roughly £9 per month... If you buy a prepaid card you buy 2 months for £18 (thats how i do it, but you've got to be quick... they sell out fast)

GW isnt that bad actually, consdring its free per month. They have mad alot of changes to it recently and its goten better.

But if u can afford it get wow, its deff the better choice.
