Since you cant go on Thottbot and sensibly discuss a weapon without getting into a fight over who it's best for, i thought i'd make up this thread.

Yes, it's expensive for the mats, i read around anywhere from 50-200G (up to 400g apparently, says conflict), i realise that. but i came to thinking if im already prepared to spend in the region of 1-750G on a dwarven handcannon (seriously!), why cant i get something thats quicker (which i want in a gun) better dps and a shit hot attack power!.. LETS NOT FORGET IT LOOKS THE ABSOLUTE SHIT!

reading up on thottbot it sounds like the mats could cost less than 200G, so i see absolutely nothing wrong with my plan... as for giving someone the mats to make the gun..... :/ how does trading like this usually happen?... keeping in mind that ill never use another bow or crossbow as long as i live, would you say this is a reasonable gun for end game?... etc.

What do you mean how does trading like this usually happen? You hand over all your expensive mats to somebody you don't know, and hope they are going to make the item you ask them to. It's all about trust and personally I think its all crap, lol. Really, you need to get somebody in the guild that can craft these items, or at least in a guild you know is honorable.


Farm the mats, don't buy them :P

ok 50 - 200g ? nope lol how much does arcanite cost on this server? On my last server arcanite bars went from 20-50g each some of the parts also are quite hard to get your hands on, try 100-400g for mats tho : / then the comission fee for the engineer aswell

ok, i'll probably farm the mats when im lvl enough to do it. . .

The stats on the gun are pretty much unbeaten as far as guns go and since its a recipe it's the easiest epic missle weapon with those sort of stats to get... I just need to be quite lucky as skorp said, handing over expencive probibly mats isnt a great thing to do, so i'll need to research a bit into who can and will make me the gun.

how about firey cores and lava cores though?. i dont think it would be easy to just "farm" crap in the MC.... looking at thottbot it seems to me that it'd cost about 100g per firey/lava core =P... but maybe we'd beable to scrape through MC by the time im lvl 60 who knows...

Umm ill make you the gun if you get me the schematic, wont charge ya comission either, im trying to get us set up with an alliance with afew other guild leaders ive met through leveling and some of them seem pretty interested tho ill get back to you on that when we have atleast 10 60s

one problem there, the Schematic is BoP which is why you never see them around. hugely expensive mats plus BoP schematic (dropped in a raid instance) means a pretty expensive gun.

The alliance sounds good, when i get to around lvl 60 we should have at least 10+ lvl 60's. would be nice to have enough people to run some of those high lvl instances.

You dont mine arcanite, you mine a rich thorium vein in hope of getting an arcane crystal which you then give to a 300 alchemist to transmute to 1 arcanite bar. you need 300 to mine a rich thorium vein i think

Ive been thinking about buying this Crossbow (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=4020) as its down @ around 10g in AH .. currently L29 so is a while before i could get to use it .. what do you think ??

It's nice but for free you could get the master hunters bow/gun from the STV quests. it is a little worse for DPS, but it still took me from level 35-45 pretty nicely.

that 10g could be used for more useful things eg. a ninth of your mount

Money isnt going to be a problem, i plan to pimp Hexx out to all the cyber-fiends outthere @ 10cp a time.


Mining & the usual uncommon+ drops help boost my income too.

still. the master hunters bow or gun can be obtained at lvl 35 onward and is marked as a lvl 44 weapon. it might not quite have the stats of your crossbow there, but it will last you well and it will save you 10G. it doesnt matter how easy money comes to you, it's still a waste of money when you can get something nearly as good for nothing.... Hell, if you came to STV with me at lvl 30 i'd do the quests for you to get it, and you're getting and using it about 6-7 levels before you should. soloing king bangalash shouldnt be hard when i have a lvl 47 king bangalash :)

just gotta watch out for that lvl 38 aggro when you're lvl 30 :S

Some of those cores cost 80-100 each on daggerspine m8
